Applying for a Bahrain eVisa requires the correct document submission and meeting all applicable conditions.

Group A

Reduced-Requirement Applicants

Applicants whose nationality appears in Group A submit only the 3 core documents required for the eVisa. Financial proof and GCC documents do not apply to Group A applicants.

Group B

Standard Applicants

Applicants in this category must submit the core documents along with either GCC documents or a recent bank statement. Most eligible nationalities falls under this group.

Group C

Applicants with Extra Requirements

Applicants in this category follow the GCC or bank statement route and may also submit a valid visa from a recognised country when a GCC document is not available.

Core Documents Required for All Applicants

Every applicant, irrespective of their nationality or selected eVisa type, is required to submit the following documents:

1. Passport Bio Page

Upload a clear scan of the passport bio page showing your details.

Scan Requirements

• The uploaded scan of the passport biopage must show all the details clearly, including the MRZ code.
• Black and white scans are not accepted, submit only coloured scan.

2. Hotel Booking Confirmation/Host’s Bahrain ID

If staying at a hotel, applicants must provide a confirmed hotel booking that covers their entire stay in Bahrain.

OR

If staying with a relative/friend, provide a clear scan of your host’s ID that confirms their Bahraini residency.

3. Document Confirming Onward Journey / Return Ticket

Option 1: Return Air Ticket

Applicants must provide either a confirmed return or onwards travel ticket that shows their departure from Bahrain.

The ticket needs to show the:

• Departure date
• Booking Confirmation Number

Option 2: Onward Travel by Road or Other Mode

For travellers arriving or departing through roads and other modes of transportation from Bahrain, they must submit a signed request letter stating:

• Traveller’s full name and accurate passport details.
• Intended duration of stay in Bahrain.
• Mode of transportation used to exit Bahrain.
• Details of the next destination country.

Requirements for Group A: Reduced-Requirement Applicants

If your nationality falls under this group, then you need to submit only the core 3 documents listed above: passport biopage scan, onward/return travel proof, and accommodation document.

Applicants eligible under Group A do not need any extra documents such as a GCC Residence Permit, bank statement or a visit visa.

Requirements for Group B: Standard Applicants

Group B applicants must meet the core requirements and answer this question in the eVisa form:

“Do you have a current valid Residence Permit or Visit Visa for a GCC country?”

If You Select “Yes” to the GCC Question:

Submit a copy of your valid Residence Permit or Visit Visa from any of the following: Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates.

• The document must be valid for at least 3 months from your intended entry to Bahrain.
• Upload both front and back sides where applicable.

This option confirms regional residency or visit status and supports the visa assessment process.

What happens if the applicants applies with an expired GCC visa?

Applying with an expired GCC visa or a resident permit can be a cause of rejection of the Bahrain eVisa application. The document must be valid at the time of application.

How long must my GCC visa or permit be valid?

Your GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa must be valid for at least 3 months from your intended date of entry into Bahrain.

Is a GCC Visit Visa acceptable, or only a Residence Permit?

Both are acceptable. You can apply using either a valid GCC Visit Visa or a valid GCC Residence Permit.

If You Select “No” for the GCC Question

Applicants must submit a stamped and certified bank statement or e-statement issued in their name for the last 3 months. The statement must:

• Show regular account transactions.
• Reflect an ending balance of at least USD 1,000 (or BHD 380).

Note: For minors travelling to Bahrain, the parent or legal guardian must provide their own certified bank statement meeting the above requirements.

Requirements for Group C: Applicants Requiring Extra Supporting Documents

Group C applicants follow the same steps as Group B but are required to submit an additional document if they do not hold a valid GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa.

If You Select “Yes” to the GCC Question

Provide your GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa. No further financial or travel history documents are needed beyond the core requirements.

If You Select “No” to the GCC Question

Submit 2 documents:

1. Your 3-month bank statement that meets the same conditions as Group B.
2. A valid visit visa from any of the following: the UAE, UK, USA, Saudi Arabia (not including Hajj or Umrah visas), any Schengen country, or a US Green Card.

Additional Requirements for Specific Cases

1. Applicants Staying with a Host

If the applicant is staying with a relative, friend, or sponsor instead of a booked hotel accommodation, they must submit a clear scan of their host's Bahrain ID.

The ID must be legible and show your host's full name, ID or document number, and photograph. A national ID card, passport, or other proof of Bahrain residency is acceptable.

In some cases, immigration may later ask them to provide a Sponsor Letter from their host.

2. Sponsor Letter (If Requested by Immigration)

Immigration Officials may ask for a Sponsor Letter after the applicant submits their host's Bahrain ID proof. This applies sometimes to Business eVisa and Family eVisa applications.

Your host must write and sign the letter, not you. It should cover details for both of you, your length of stay, the accommodation arrangement, and any financial sponsorship from your host.

The letter needs your host's signature to be valid.

3.For Indian Applicants

Indian nationals are required to upload the back page of their passport as well. This page contains family details of the applicant and is mandatory for all applications from India.

4. Applicants Below 18 Years of Age

Children follow the same document requirements as adult applicants. For applications submitted for an individual minor, officials may request additional documents.

These may include:

1. A copy of the child's birth certificate.
2. A copy of the parent or guardian's passport or Bahrain ID.
3. A signed consent letter confirming approval for the child's travel.
